Reliability Prediction / Extrapolation from accelerated testing results

We have developed customised prediction techniques to ensure accelerated reliability stress test data is used to make accurate predictions for both early life failure and long term reliability levels. These periods represent very different failure modes

  • Early Life Failures are predominantly due to process type issues and weak components
  • Longer Life Failures being more design and component related. A totally different test programmes is required to evaluate the full life reliability performance of any product.

Development of testing regimes for different product types

We have also developed unique methods to optimise accelerated stress testing for early life simulation and predict the early life failure rate. This enables a very accurate prediction of expected early life reliability which is a separate failure distribution to that of longer / useful life period

This can be combined with traditional MTTF (Mean Time To Failure) testing which is enhanced by combining it with other, stress inducing, techniques. This provides the most accurate prediction of longer life reliability. The results are statistically robust and can often we correlated with similar industries.

From our experience of consulting with multiple electronic manufacturing companies, we have developed intensive methods to assess the maturity of reliability management.
